The Journey XVII - Darkness Comes And Darkness Stays
Project type
The Journey
Date
August 2025
So this one I have been working on since february this year. I have never used 2 songs for The Journey before.
In fact, I couldnt decide between those two songs in the beginning as both of them stirred something within me, so I put both in a playlist and kept playing them over and over again in hopes of coming to a final decision....until I realized that they perfectly blend into each other phonetically.
The more I got into the idea of working with two songs the more I realized that its basically 2 sides of the same coin.
The endless cycle of healing and breaking. An endless loop. This video is shot and edited in a way that if you keep watching, it will loop endlessly and blend musically.
Song no. 1, the power of healing. Finding yourself. Trusting yourself again. Believing in who you are. Growing stronger. Boundaries. Strength. Catharsis. Cleansing.
And song no. 2 as the dark night of the soul that preempts every new cycle because life is cyclical like that.
"Its never easy falling in love again"
I find this statemement to be painfully true. Not (only) in a relationship/romantic love type of sense. But on a greater scale. Falling- or staying - in love with life.
I recently lived through, on top of all pre-existing trauma (✌️), something profoundly traumatic and found myself in a position where I, too, had to work on trusting Life again. Fear has always been my biggest enemy.
And I think it is for many of us.
What an act of bravery - To be willing to love openly, deeply and with open arms regardless.
Biggest thank you, as always, to @a13xaub3r for his insane camera work every single time. I can only work the way I do because he blindly understands my language.
Choreographed, Directed and Edited by yours truly
